A Pair of Sliding Doors in Pure CSS. The effect was easily achieved with CSS3 transitions on absolutely positioned elements. The doors will adapt their width and height according to the size of the container (Wondering how ? Check out the left, right, top and bottom values of .left_gate and .right_gate in the CSS Code).

The demo wont work in Internet Explorer version 9 and below because they do no not support CSS3 transitions.
