The CSS3 test<\/a> will tell you exactly what’s supported on any particular browser. The test checks for borders and backgrounds, selectors, image values, media queries, transitions, animations, transforms, texts, fonts, colors, values and units and more. The test also tests for properties defined with vendor preferences (like -webkit-). The test goes through every single CSS rule and displays them all so \u00a0you can see which properties are supported and which aren’t.<\/p>\n

The purpose of the test is to see exactly how much of CSS3 a particular browser will support, and also to compare and contrast browsers to each other. Developers can use the test if they need to double check what’s supported, and it can also be used to decide what rules and properties to include in your stylesheets.<\/p>\n

Out of the most recent versions of all the more popular browsers, Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Internet Explorer, Firefox seems to score the best, with Chrome following closely behind. You might be surprised to see how low all of the browsers score. Even the leader, Firefox, comes in at only 61%. Below you’ll see a screenshot from Chrome’s test, which only scored a 54%.<\/p>\n
